“Noir” in French means “black.” The NOIR SOFA translates the unique atmosphere of the noir genre into its design.
It maximizes the contrast between the cool, structural silhouette of metal and the tactile texture of leather, and is composed to evoke an architectural presence. This creates a distinctly urban and chic impression.

Munito designed the NOIR SOFA in collaboration with JOONGHO CHOI Studio. Through this collaboration that embraces diverse tastes, Munito presents a fresh perspective that is uniquely its own.
Joongho Choi Studio, founded in Seoul in 2008, is a design studio engaged in a wide range of creative work including product, spatial, and furniture design. Beginning with their first collaboration in 2023, Munito and Joongho Choi Studio have been working together to propose a new direction not previously seen in the domestic market.
MANLY MATERIAL
The team analyzed elements that could best amplify the unique sensibility of leather, distinct from fabric. To highlight the classic and natural character of leather, they chose to pair it with stainless steel, one of the most industrial and contemporary materials. This key concept was a deliberate choice to appeal to tastes different from Munito’s existing collections, and Munito believed Joongho Choi Studio was the ideal partner to realize it.
REDEFINED DIMENSION
By reinterpreting familiar dimensions, the design enhances usability while proposing a new visual impression. This approach is applied directly to the armrest design and plays a key role in defining the identity of the NOIR SOFA.
